Too much stress Createamum. Is there anything that you can just pass on to someone else to sort out to give you a bit of head space? I know that it is sometimes difficult to let go of stuff and it might seem like you are not strong (if you see what I mean?) but I think that there is sometimes great strength in admitting that it is all too much and letting go of some things. Perhaps that is just me.

I would give Link Maker a prod. I was verified as an adopter literally overnight. Perhaps it is the LA (or VA?) that is being slow. Did you give your current LA or the place from which you adopted? I went for the place from which we adopted as they have to have a record of me ('cos I adopted from that borough) whereas anything from you current LA might be referenced to Sticky, perhaps, and not to you? Link Maker's helpdesk really does seem very good, diligent and prompt to me so perhaps drop them an email and ask for a status update. There is a link from the Help button (top right of this page) to send an email to them. I've usually got a response within half an hour or so (and I've sent them a lot of emails recently!).

Will be very interested to see whether being verified really is the golden ticket to receiving private messages. Fingers crossed Aboutyounow.

Understanding that other people just ignore you is what happens here, I asked my assistant leader at Brownies to do three things a month ago and she just messaged me to say she hasn’t done any of them and the things she was supposed to do for Tuesday she forgot about. Ahhh

i gave them our VA details as we are still engaged with them doing adopters support and attending prep courses to give adopters prospective. I’ll give them a couple more days and give them a prod.

where has the sunshine gone, it feels like we’re going back to early spring weather rather than a May bank holiday.

verily I would do it first thing on Tuesday but who am I to say anything.

"Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone" popped into my head for no reason whatsoever. Errr, yes, this is a starter for 10. Who? And when? And we know that points mean no prizes whatsoever but a shout out to whomever. Hmmm. Perhaps I need to finesse that ... But still it's just for fun, right?

Will do it Tuesday at lunchtime, it’s just a little bit of shopping and some printing.

Bill withers 1971, my mum used to play it when I was little.

Ok anyone else watching line of duty.

Xteremely good I thought - Line of Duty - yes - that was worth logging in for! I thought Hasting’s acting was really good - and convincing - I said before I didn’t trust that woman but her name began with B not H so wasn’t convinced! Another series to look forward to though!

Yes but was she H, as they’re still another person left in play from OCG, when the older women and the man were giving the press statements I did wonder if one of them was H.

what have we all got planned for this fine bank holiday, we are thinking of a afternoon at our local nature reserve for a walk and a visit to their wonderful cafe.

Zounds! How is it that I always seem to land on Z? Haven't watched Line of Duty but have heard that it is very good. I'm rubbish at watching series on TV as I tend to miss out weeks and then can't work out what on earth is going on.

Today I am doing laundry and enjoying the silence. DH has taken Chick to the cinema. I'm going to take Dog for a walk and then do a big fat nothing till they return.

Ah! Line of Duty.. best thing ever. I only discovered it last year then binge watched the whole lot on iplayer. But I was recuperating from illness so had time on my hands!

Kitcat and her mum have been minding my cats for the day, and when I got home I discovered that Kitcat has carefully locked all the kitchen cupboard child locks for me. Careless Nan to leave them unlocked! Kitcat is so rooted in Safety First, she's hilarious :-)

Yes, Kitcat sounds like a winner on so many levels. However (and, yet, again I'm being pedantic because I just can't help it) you are going the wrong way, Cat Lady - we should be reversing and going back up the alphabet (Z-A) not going down ...

Safia May 6, 2019 17:34

Xtremely lax of you CatLady to leave the child locks open - but then how did you know you had if KtKat closed them - maybe you’d left them locked after all......

Well, your reasoning is exemplary Safia. I will just go with the flow.

Hope that everyone's Bank Holiday has gone well and that peace reigns throughout. Back to school for us tomorrow. Usually a good experience but out of routine (DH has to go away for work) so we will have to wait and see ...

Very much too late realising I was going the wrong way with the alphabet. Ooops, sorry.

Safia, yes I am very lax about the child locks when it's just me here. Losing Brownie points all the time I'm afraid :-/ I recognise Kitcat's work there as she's the only one now who bothers about the locks. Unless it's a regular Nan/Kitcat day of course, when I'm firing on all cylinders and just as safety conscious as she is!

Well, long weekend is nearly over and normality beckons tomorrow. For us tomorrow is a Nan/Kitcat day, so better get sorted in preparation.

Hope you've all had a good/fun/ restful/fabulous/just-about-ok time (delete as appropriate) xx

Utterly relaxed PJ day here, DH and sticky went out for a bike ride to get packed lunch supplies for school and bits to add to lunch for today, I watched rubbish tv and had copious amounts of tea. This afternoon Sticky went to the park at the back of us and I did the dreaded ironing and watched some bits of tv that I’d recorded. Tonight was dinner followed by card games before shower and bed.

i am back to work tomorrow and sticky is back to school, DH has an off day so will be in charge of all things around the house.

today has been pretty good.

Trying it is - terribly trying - having to log on each time I want to say something - the last time it was only 10 minutes in between or something! Then to get back to the bit you want to comment on .....urgh! Anyway really glad you’ve had a nice relaxing day Createamum - and that everyone else has had a good weekend too

Not sure what happened to Pluto - she appeared for a couple of minutes then left - perhaps an apparition?

So excited I have managed to login again! I've changed my details so many times I was probably just getting them wrong!

The good news here is our boiler was repaired today having broken down on Saturday and I'm looking forward to a warmer evening and a hot shower!

Really good that people are finding their way back to the forum. It ain't easy though! I miss the ARF thread.

Kitcat and I have had a good day. She's such good company and keeps me on my toes. Lots of driving here there and everywhere on various missions today, Kitcat sat in state in the back, singing her heart out - mostly Frozen and Moana but plenty of music hall too. Sometimes the songs get mixed up which is interesting. Her sleep is much better of late. Top marks to her mum and dad who have moved mountains to get her into better sleep habits. It's been a huge challenge and we are now well aware of the horrific effects of sleep deprivation.

Quite here this morning, I do like my early starts.

milly i hope the boiler gets fixed, I am not sure I could cope without a hot shower.

catlady your day with kitcat sounds lovely, a good sing along in the car is always a favourite around here, we’re introducing Sticky to 80’s pop at the moment.

Perhaps CatLady you could start the new ARF thread - I know you were good at it - too much creativity involved for me to contribute but I liked reading it. Pear Tree who started it before - twice I think - won’t mind I’m sure. She has been on the new boards so I’m sure will contribute and it may reveal others who are having to use new names - so give it a go!

Ooh, that's a thought Safia! I may well have a go if Pear Tree doesn't do so in the meantime :-)

Now we’ve had an interesting 24 hours, yesterday morning I left for work and DH did the school run including dropping sticky at school, all seemed well we had parents evening all booked for that afternoon. Get to 11:40 I get a call from school, Sticky has been printing off pictures at school of serial killers and discussing this with other kids in her year. I say I’ll speak to her, ten minutes later a call from her music teacher, did she take her violin to school, yes I say, check with hubby yes she walked into the front gate with it.

when I pick her up from school I mention to head of year did Sticky find her violin, oh yes she’d left it at the shop, I ask them to repeat this as Sticky was walked through the front gate with it. It appears she turned straight around and walked to the shop, but she had no money that we know of, so is she begging again, shop lifting or taking money. Parents evening was mostly good so quite a surprise, we always go out for dinner after a good parents evening, off we go. Nice dinner, home, Sticky to bed, me to bed an hour later.

an hour later DH is waking me up saying there are two police officers at the door asking for me by name, well my dad lives on his own, as does my sister and I am emergency contact for my niece who is traveling around America before uni. So I’ve got one hundred thoughts going through my head over who’s died or been injured, but no, some one had made 6, 999 calls between 7 and 7:30 that morning and as the phone is listed to me they thought it was me. No it’s my old phone that sticky now has, we wake her up so they can give her a stern talking to because nothing we say is working.
