Adoption Approval and Matching Panels under lockdown

Kuhn-Patricks April 29, 2020 10:28

I'd be interested in your experience of approval and matching panels during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Here in Glasgow, all panels have been stopped pending agreement on the secure video conferencing platform to be used.

The Children's Reporter, however, has been holding Children's Hearings in Scotland for the past five weeks and has already made a large number of legal decisions regarding Children.

Please do share your experience stating where in the country you are and whether Panels have restarted on-line and which video conferencing platform they are using.

Hi. I had my approval panel on 25th March in the south east of England. I was the first one my agency did via zoom conference call. It was all put in place very quickly as only two days after lock down announced. It worked really well. Since then my agency have done a number of approval panels and other prospective adopters in my group have moved on to linking where everything is done on line and they have matching panels scheduled for May.

Hi there, we were approved on March 31st in East London via skype's conference and it went well. The only problem now, it's about the placement. We are stuck, my LA will review our case next week.
