Well Everyone, not been on for ages as been juggling the first year after placement of our now 2 yr DD with previously placed half sib our now 3 year old DS. Got some terrific news today. A letter from the court to say the adoption order was made on Monday. When I was reading the letter our DS said to me ''Mummy why are you crying'' I said because Mummy is very happy sweetheart, today we got a letter from the judge saying your sister is finally ours'' he immediately replied ''does that mean we really get to keep her forever, she is my bestest little sister in the world and I love her'' ... And social services thought they should not be placed together because of their differences!They wont know what''s hit them in family court next month, 25 of us turned up to claim our DS on his adoption day. I have a feeling there will be many more there cheering us on this time - dont know where they will put us all or what the judge will think and dont really care. It seems such a long time since we were asked to consider if we could take her back in Oct 07 and the long battle we had to get her home with us at the beginning of last year but was worth every moment of soul searching, stress, tears and heartache and joy to finally come to this point. Not stopping for a breather though, life for us now is about doing everything we can as a white family to meet her needs alongside meeting the needs of both our adopted children. Just felt like sharing today and will try and be on the boards more - probably with lots more questions than answers. I am sure we will start to need more and more help soon with it all - there is only so much we can do and are always looking for positive ideas and role models in our lives for both our kids. We will take all the help we can to achieve the best outcomes we can for our two beautiful and precious children. Mummybean x
