Therapeutic parenting

Hi all,

Within TP, when a LO is happy not dysregulated, but testing boundaries -can you use a calm, firm voice to state expectations/boundary crossed/redirect?

Obviously if they were dysregulated would use other TP approaches.

Thanks

Yes, you can. Therapeutic parenting is based not just on empathy, but on rules and routines to give children a sense of safety and make their lives predictable. Maybe have a listen to this interview with Sarah Naish on "Therapeutic Parenting: Practical Applications" :

You can skip the first 4 minutes or so, they are ads.
