Hi everyone,
Following on from LinkMaker’s post yesterday about non-verified users now being able to participate in private chats, we just wanted to thank you again for bearing with us while we work through these teething problems with our new forums. It’s been a tricky job to meet everyone’s needs but hopefully we’re getting there. We value the experience and contributions of everyone in the adoption community so we hope this change will make the public forums more inclusive.
The ability to initiate these private chats will still remain with Adoption UK members only (both verified and non-verified) and this will be followed by other member benefits and member-only areas, as we further develop our online Community. We’ll keep you posted (and you can find out more about our new membership benefits and monthly payment options on our membership pages). We are sorry to non-members of Adoption UK who will miss this function of initiating private chats on the forums. We would love to be able to provide all our services, to everyone, for free but in an increasingly difficult funding environment for charities and a fast developing technical age, we have had to make some difficult decisions in order to ensure we can continue to provide a secure and innovative online space for adopters.
You’ll notice an increased presence from us though going forward, on both the public and member-only areas of the Community – engaging in discussions, offering support, information and updates on our work to both members and non-members. We know this has been missing in recent years and we’ll work to put this right.

Thank you again for your continued support.
Best wishes
