House moving

greyspeckledhen July 2, 2013 09:22
I''ll stop hijacking the thoughts and prayers thread but as I don''t have an army of helpers, please send any positive thoughts my way.Doing my best to throw things and give things away to reduce the amount we have to move but it is a huge job to do single handed and is making me very tired and emotional.I know there is another side of this mountain and I will reach it eventually but in the meantime I am finding it a huge struggle.

You should have timed the move to coinside with the camp then we could have all pitched in.Sending virtual help remember you still need to eat, sleep and take care of yourself.Good luck Nixie

CRAMPONS...crampons, rope and an extra pair of virtual hands coming your way (amazed me how ALONE I am in the packing too..quell surprise...not!!!).....oh...and whilst emptying the glasses and booze cupboard...found some 'nearly' empty bottles of 'medicine'...I have enjoyed a few 'cocktails' mid afternoon....hick..can recommend this to make the mountains appear less daunting and to wallow in the emotion fitfully.I always wait till after the school run to medicate, even though I don't do a school run...its the illusion of respectability that is most important.I have also not been so fussy over the recycling..recycling takes a lot of energy..so I have put a lot into those metal banks without sorting them too much. I don't have the energy. I feel like I COULD do a car boot and make some money but again..I don't have the energy.Onwards...and less displacement activity...good luck gsh....lets have a slap up lunch when we are settled...my treat!!!xxx

Lunch sounds like a lovely plan - thank you!Middly helped things along today (not) by running away instead of going to school. Thankfully he eventually came back. His birthday is tomorrow. Too much already!Send some positive 'birthday mood' thoughts our way please. Last year he was really sick on his birthday, got sent home from school and then went to bed till the next day. You'd think it couldn't get much worse than that (nope - you wouldn't you're all adopters ) but who know what tomorrow will bring.....If anyone else tells me that I must be feeling excited I may have to ask them to trade lives for a month or so.

Suffolk Puff - you're medicinal route sounds most enjoyable! Agreed about the car boot sale. Such a worthy idea, and so not going to happen. The freecyclers are probably all car booting my stuff and making piles of money, but there it is. No energy for it here either.

Today middly got banned from a school trip, got a detention and then ran away from therapy. On the plus side I did lots of decorating and our house is less pink than it was.

that's the new house - our old house is not pink, at all, anywhere (apart from a small portable cd player and I have no idea how that got here)!

All the children are booked into holiday activities this week so that I can crack on with decorating/ packing/ unpacking. Now I am poorly. On steroids and have an inhaler but still feel like a wheezy 95 yr old smoker. Not fair.

Today Mr GSH was running children here and there and trying to earn a living. Tomorrow one child is going by bus and one by train so should be less running around. It was getting littly to his holiday club that nearly finished me off this morning so he can do that one tomorrow but it is only 10 mins walk away. Thanks for the muffins & latte - much appreciated. I did have my first raspberry from my fruit cage today - whoohoo (quite excited about the fruit cage - it came with the house, raspberries included )One raspberry each today. Yum! It gave me enough energy to sort middly's curtains out and build the shoe rack - both sitting down jobs.Hoping for a bit more energy tomorrow!

Still struggling. Mr gsh has the chesty thing now so we're both poorly and feeling frustrated at the mountain still to climb. Sat in the new house this afternoon and just cried that we can't move in with hopes and dreams - too painful when they get broken along with the walls and windows as yet intact that will inevitably be smashed along the way now that we are bringing our children's chaos into it. Really, it is a lovely house and yet I know that however hard I try to make it nice that mostly there will be chaos and conflict and shouting in it because that is what my boys know how to do.Anyone know of a removal company that specialises in the therapeutic moving of dysfunctional families? I could really do with someone to help me.

Mr Gsh got the lurgy and is still poorly 10 days later .Today some kind friends lent their time and trailer to help us dismantle and move the garden swing set and climbing frame. Very lovely of them to sweat it out in the heat today. They also cleaned out my mouldy, damp kitchen cupboard - bless them. How's it going suffolk puff?
