Research request - differences in assessment between heterosexual and gay/lesbian adopters

Darren Davies, a student in the third year of a social work degree at Chester University, is carrying out research for his third year dissertation. He explains: ‘I am looking into the assessment process for prospective adopters, paying particular attention to whether potential gay/lesbian adopters are asked to evidence anything differently from a heterosexual adopter and if so why. I will then conclude my findings in a comparative study that will include the findings that Dr. Steve Hicks found from his study ''The Last Resort'' which he produced in 1996. I am hoping to ascertain whether the introduction of the Adoption Act 2002 has improved the process for gay/lesbian potential adopters.’He would like to send questionnaires out to three heterosexual adopters and three gay/lesbian adopters who have been through the adoption process.
