Hi Guy''s,I recieved a letter today saying about a grant you can get to improve your heating and insulation in your house. On the form it says you can apply for this if you are disabled, also i figured that would include if you have disabled children.I expect most of you will already know about this, but on the off chance i thought i would post this...Theres a free phone number 0800 316 2800or go to www.warmfront.co.ukHope this is usefulDory xx

Hi DoryThis is actually open to everyone. There's more information on the direct.gov site. We're having our loft, loft door, water tank insulated and having cavity insulation done - all for £198!

If you have an older relative on Attendance Allowance they can have a full central heating system installed and maintained for free.My mum didn't need new CH, but I got all the radiators in her house fitted with new thermostatic valves as the old circa 1970 ones didn't work. If she needed a new CH system in the future she could have one off them for free. She also got a new hot water cylinder cover. Could have had loft insualtion and cavity wall for free too but they were already done 25 years ago when I worked for the Electricity company and got staff discount. There are restrictions on what is offered where the qualifying member of the household on DLA is a child.Midge

My parents are both over 70 and have recently had a new boiler and some radiators fitted. The other boiler was quite old and they're seeing a difference already in their energy costs.

yup, had new boiler (oil) fitted last year. They also checked the rest of my house for insulation etc to see if any improvements were needed, but we were ok.
