How do I adopt my step son

Hi I'm getting married next year, my step son will be 5 , his natural father has never met him denies he exists and is not on the birth certificate. When myself and his mum wed next year we want to adopt him as mine how do we go about it . Thanks in advance for advice :-)

The SW who did our homestudy changed her job afterwards so she could go part time and she went on to deal with step parent adoption. Also we had some friends whose nieces came to live with them after their mother died and they considered adopting them but the girls didn't want to in the end because they wanted to keep their mother's name. Very different from your situation but I know they did have at least one visit from SW to discuss adoption. Best wishes Larsti x
