10 years ago a young overseas student from a very poor country came to live with our family for a year whilst he did an access course-he ended up living as part of our family for 8 years -helping our younger kids with homework, being there if we were late in from work.He went on to do a degree ( got a first ) -all the time doing part time jobs to pay for his fees and support himself . He got married whist living with us so his wife also shared our home for 4 years.He then got a full time job when he graduated.We have just come back from seeing him get his masters with distinction ! he and his wife and baby now live about an hour away -but they are so much part of our family -have been such a support to us with our fours sons ( now adults) and are "family" He has worked so hard for this and it was lovely to share his special day!
