Medical officer and fears I won''t be able to adopt

Hi AllMy wife and I have just completed the first two days of our adoption prep group. It''s been an emotional roller coaster and a really good group.I am 42 and have two seperate conditions, a neuro condition called Syringomyelia and rheumatoid arthritis. When I met my wife she had 41/2 year old twins now 12. We always wanted two children together and after two horrendous miscarriages my baby daughter was born. She is now 41/2 and gorgeous. In the middle of last year after another horrendous miscarriage we decided to stop trying for a birth child and consider our options. My wife is 46. After a lot of thought we decided we wanted to adopt and when we firt spoke to a social worker she suggested concurrency. My fear is that the medicalofficer will say we are over stretched and can''t adopt. I don''t think this is the case, (most of the time)! What are people''s experiences of medical officers? My GP is very supportive and I''ce had my medical.Thank you

HiWelcome to adoption ukThe key thing really is going for a bigger age gap than you'd normally think of with birth children.Frankly, the incredible resourcefulness and caring attitude you've demonstrated in your lives will count for youThe medical advisor here tends to be very straightforward and gives the medical facts, they may ask about the reality of living in a flair and then you will need to show your support network in action. But you're used to thatAll the best

Thanks for your encouragement. Helped me realise the resources I/we already have.
