Hi. I live in the motherwell erea and was wondering if anyone knew where one of those information talks are relating to to adoption process? Looking online is all well n good but id like to talk to some one face to face. Also should I ask a social worker for info as well?

Ring social social services and ask for information. You don't have to stick to your own LA so ring around a few and talk to a sw.

If you are in Scotland I would seriously think about moving south before adopting....the support in Scotland is practically non-existent (no funding for support compared to England) and the law which says young people are adults at 16 is difficult for adoptees as they tend to mature later and often push hardest in their teens... Saying that if you do want to continue, all the LA in the West of Scotland are in a consortium for adoption and many events are joint. Contact your LA first and they will be able to direct you.

I wouldn't be comfortable moving to England as I'd be disconnected from my support network and in an unfamiliar environment but I'll consider it later if I need to. I'll ring the Social services later today and see how that fares and start looking at Glasgow for info events. Thanks for the help ^_^
