Hi, hope you all are well. Bit concerned SW mentioned that as both DH and self have been self employed for 8 and 10 years respectively this could cause difficulties down the line as far as employment references are concerned. We each have long standing clients who would be happy to give references but SW feels this is not the same or enough. Also two previous employers are no longer up and running. Anyone had similar hurdle? advice most appreciated.Thanks 301bucks

Hi Bucks,I am sorry I do not knwo the answer but what about the accountant - we are our employer and our accountant gave us ref.You could also talk to adoption uk helpline they may have some good advise here.Hopefully some more people will be along too.louis-woof woof x

i was self employed too -but had to give up my job....so that was a bit tricky!!Accountant and one of the families i did work for gave referances.

Likewise DH's accountant of 20 years gave his 'work' reference which was acceptable. He also gave DH's earnings info.Midge
