and another thing!

After a week in hospital having every test under the sun and close monitoring our little tinkerbell has been diagnosed with Epilepsy and put on Epilim. So thats as well as FAS,global delay, hypermobility, sleep apnea, speech and language problems, failure to thrive, mobility problems and a gluten and diary intolerance!!! And she is still her cheeky, freaky little self!!! Sometimes it amazes me the strength of our childrens spirit. Need to research epilepsy now as her form of suizures are not ones i have really seen before. Anyone got children with epilepsy/on epilim who also has special needs and have no awareness of self/danger etc? The leaflet I was given tells you how you should educate your child about keeping themselves safe and learning about their condition.....thats just not going to happen here!!!!

Epilepsy is much more common in the learning disabled community, and I guess that an organisation such as Mencap or Scope would be a good place to start looking for advice.Queenie
