We have my nephew on an SGO since Jan 12 his siblings are in foster care, we have just started the assessments for the adoption, of my nephew and his siblings, we have wanted his sibling for a long time now but the ss wouldn''t assess us because we only have a 3 bed house but now we are moving to a 5 bed house soon. We have 3 children of our own 19, 16, 15 and my 4yr old nephew who will be 5 next month.My question is how long does adoption process take, I no the rules have changed to do with adoption, down to 6 months. But with this being family does it take the same amount of time. The ss have said they are going to use my SGO assessment as part of the adoption assessment. Contact stopped between my nephew, us and his sibling back in October as a placement order was made. Also does any know how long it would be before contact starts again, if everything goes well if the assessment which the ss are very positive about and think there shouldn''t be any problems unless anything turns up in the crb checks and other checks which nothing will show up.
