Seeking a good residential EBD school in South/East England,

Robiniared June 17, 2013 21:02
Does anybody have knowledge or experience of an EBD school that they would recommend? Ideally, weekly boarding and located in South/East of England (I''m in East Anglia). Must have therapeutic input and emphasis on building resilience, as well as delivering national curriculum (or close to it). Thanks!

http://www.specialneedsuk.org/a few years ago - i used this as a starting point for phoning and requesting prospectuses and later visiting a short list in the north of englandthink clearly about the priorities for your child, any learning difficulties or specific LD/executive functioning difficultiesany asd/asperger features ? need for speech and language therapyattachment and trauma difficulties and the schools experience of LAC or adopted children? a therapeutic environment or understanding of mental health needs - beyond a behavioural approachany sensory issue ? the need for OT inputyour LA should be able to provide a list of approved special educational needs schools in england and wales

Have you considered Caldecott in Kent?We looked there for blossom, but she wouldn't get the statement needed- at the timeThere's the mulberry bush school which is renowned for its excellent workThere's thornby hall too There are options but not many of them so it's best to contact a few and get an idea what you're looking for They are all very differentPear tree
