funding for therapy

Has anyone been able to access the adoption funding for therapy for there disabled child. I have been told every child can access a funding up to 5,000 pound for therapy

Hi, the post-adoption team of our child's LA had to put in a request for specific therapy and state why it was required, then the ASF had to agree to it. They included statements from social workers and atherapist in their application. So I think it has to be claimed as a specific need and intervention.

Hello, yes we did, had 7 months of occupational therapy for our little one for SPD. He was also diagnosed with ADHD/ODD
