How long from Matching Panel to introductions?

I am looking for advice. I have now been given a date for panel for a gorgeous little blue, however I have been told it could be 5-6 weeks for intro''s. Is this normal? I alreay have an adoptive child, however this was several years ago and both have a birthday in 6 weeks so this could be a difficult time for intros to start. We would obivously adjust if needed but it does seem quite long for me.It has taken 31/2 months from linking to panel and just feel that this seems really long second time round.I nappreciate nothing is normal when it comes to planet adoption. But this does seem long to me.Parent to AD 5 and linked to 20 month blue.

Hi,It's so hard waiting through this stage.My timings are from last year:First heard about LO 1 JuneMet SW end of June (between my SW and her SW they were away for most of July)Panel 21st AugustIntros 3rd Sept (delayed a week due to diary clash for SW)Moved home 13th Sept, LO nearly 2 and a halfCelebration Day 2nd May this yearHope that helps, good luck,WHNM

It was 2 weeks for us which I think is pretty standard for most people. There may be a delay due to holidays etc.. but definitely worth asking why there is such a long gap

I went three months from MP to intros! Tbf it was delayed a month because of a bereavement, but at the point of MP social workers didn't have a date for intros. The date was then postponed three times to be more convenient for the FCs.

We've just finished intros..LO comes home tomorrow....We had 11 days between panel and start of intros.The intros took 6 days, but LO is 4 years old.Good luckSwimchicx

It clearly varies hugely as we only had a couple of days in between. All the best.

Our intros are due to start 8 days after matching panel and will last a week xxx

Thank you for this. I am going to try and push for at least an introduction planning meeting. I have been told that the delay is due to a computer system? Just really want to meet him.Thank you all for your support and advice.

I am sure people like Martin Narey would be interested to know that a 'computer system' is holding up the placement of a child!!! Keep pushing and let them know its not acceptable!

Hi Poppy111,Our MP was yesterday, and intros will start in 9 days.Would have been just 3 days if it weren't for the flipping Bank Holiday!Your wait does seem long. I would challenge it.Witch
