Newly placed daughter

We only met our little daughter just over a week ago. Throughout introductions she was rather reserved and kept on going back to her foster carer for reassurance, which I quite liked as it showed they had a good connection. Her first night at our house was rather unsettled, but she rewarded me today with walking all throughout the house in my high heels, then staggering back to me and throwing her little arms around me for a big hug and cuddle, giggling all the way. This then turned into a lovely game, where she would walk a few steps away from me and then come back for more hugs. Just about managed to hold it together and did not cry - so, so proud of her and so happy.
