How do I find local people to me that have adopted? I would love to meet up and share my worries/ good news. Most of the people on my adoption group live too far away. Thanks

My LA does events with AUK - we recently went to a family day where prospective/adopters just all got together to play/chat. It wasn't about finding families for the kids as the kids there were either already adopted or birth children. It was good getting to chat to people who live in my borough. You could see if AUK has a group in your area.

I found a local group through the local children's centre. AUK have lots of groups, have you tried them yet? Your LA may well be able to help you get in touch with other local adopters. Local support is really helpful, so do keep asking around.

Contact your local council (try their website), they will have details. We adopted through a neighboring authority, so the events are a bit far away, and so have heard about events closer to us.
