DLA and AA?

KG81 May 1, 2013 06:42
HiDo you know what DLA and AA should be used for? What''s the difference? We are using the DLA to get special needs toys or for visits to the farm.... Anything to do with our lo.Applying now for Adoption Allowance (we move and we are financially tight). Is it for our lo as well or is it for day to day living, as food shopping, petrol, helping with bills? Thanks x

My adoption allowance was given to enable me to drop to part time hours and by implication is therefore for day to day living expenses - it keeps the roof over our heads so its for LO in that sense.DLA then gives me the ability to pay for extras for Simba which I couldnt otherwise afford such as swimming lessons and the trainer who is working on his motor skills. Some months this costs more than others and in others less, so in all honesty I cant say that every month every single penny of DLA goes to those 'extras', It all ends up in one pot but there are some obvious expenses that would fall off if Simba didnt get DLA

AA was also given to us to allow me to work reduced hours. Thankfully, they have continued to give it to us (I work 3 short days). We moved house and it made up part of our income for mortgage purposes.DLA helps with nice things and private appts.
