sport & behaviour

I''ve read a number of research articles on add & one that stuck with me was about outdoor sport improving concentrationTwo weeks ago, ds did a week of indoor sport & it was a nightmare to get him to even put his socks on each morning despite loving it when he got thereLast week he did an outdoor sports week, achieved 2 levels up from last year, got the highest marks amongst his friends (none of whom have special needs) & concentrated so well that the coach didn''t ''know him'' (usually he has to act the clown, so coaches quickly work out who he is & the good ones handle him well) after 2 whole days. His report was good & whilst we still had some name calling & swearing at home, nothing like as bad as normal.l

That's interesting! Why is it more beneficial than indoor sport?I have just decided to forfeit one of ninnynoo's free nursery sessions next term in order to keep her in a gymtots class. I have been concerned about her poor concentration, co-ordination and balance, and this once-a-week session has been making a difference.maybe I need to try to find an outdoor activity for her too - do you know of anything suitable for 3 year olds?

not sure why, but given our climate, I would wait until next year before looking at outdoor sports for a 3/4 year oldall the bestl
