Google for the Listening Centre in Lewes. We took both our girls there and it was a real help, but not a cure as such - we also had listening therapy on the NHS via the OT department at our local hospital, but it was too strong for my daughter and we had to stop it. You do have to be a bit careful with adopted children because of the trauma - on the cds we got from the OT it said in small print "not to be used in cases of emotional disturbance" but she didn't bother a jot with that. She was taking a very OT attitude towards things and not considering the mental health aspect and basically the music was just too much. At Lewes on the other hand they tailored everything specifically towards our girls and we didn't have the same problems. There is another system called AIT which some alternative centres offer. One of them was at the autism show a few months ago and really pushing it. I looked into AIT when I was considering it or the Lewes centre (which offers Tomatis listening therapy). Tomatis was the guy who developed the theory in the first place. AIT is a derivation of it which is easier to access than Tomatis, but it doesn't assume any psychological underlying features (which Tomatis does - he thought it was all to do with the child's relationship with the parent, which was manna to my ears of course, as an adopter). So we went for Tomatis. AIT is popular in the States - if you google for it or Tomatis you will find links. The NHS auditory processing stuff has developed from that.
