Hi - just finished reading an amazing (fiction) book "Room" by Emma Donoghue. I don't think I'm giving anything away by saying it is about a boy born and raised in a single room by his mother who has been kidnapped, and the narrator is the five year old child. Whilst not directly adoption related I found it really thought-provoking about a child's response to trauma and particularly change, when they have previously known no different, with obvious parallels for a child moving from a neglectful and chaotic environment into a new home. Would be a really useful and easy read for new or prospective adoptive parents. LB
