DIY SOS looking for adoptive family

Press and PR Assistant April 10, 2013 16:49
Hello everyone,The TV show DIY SOS has been in touch. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006pnjkThey carry out building projects on family homes around the country and are looking for an adoptive family to take part in the show. They would particularly like to find a family that have a building need related to adoption - i.e. adopting a big sibling group so need to build extra bedrooms, building a special play therapy room to support your child etc.You would need to be happy for yourself, your children and your home to be filmed and to talk about your adoption experience on camera. If you think you fit the bill and are interested in taking part please get in touch via ---- EMAIL REDACTED ----Regards,Naomi--Naomi EvettsPress & PR Assistant

I hate to be cynical, but I do hope the show is balanced and not geared towards identifying what fabulous parents they are for adopting a child. I think that its important to portray adoption positively, but not portray people as saints for adopting children, what does that say about the child?Well hopefully I am being a cynic, and thats not the aim or the actual outcome of the show

Well being happy to have children filmed for national tv would discount most of us. Or maybe they haven't grasped that there will be safety and security issues for lots of us? ?

I'd be very surprised if any domestic adopters come forward for this. Why would anyone want their children exposed to the media and at risk of BF finding out where their children live? Probably only those who adopted from overseas would agree to this. My DD's were in FC when their FC had a tv make over done on her house. DD's and another fosling were shipped out while it all happened as they were not allowed to be filmed as they were LAC.

Whole idea sounds suspect to me but then it is a programme I particularly dislike anyway.
