making friends

It is 6 months since Jade died and I am learning to live again. I am just back from a few days in London, catching up with old friends and doing some sightseeing. One day I met up with a lady I had met on this forum. I only knew her from the forum, including some private messages. We had a lot in common. It was like a blind date! We got on very well and chatted for hours. It was like we had always known each other. We went to a play that was very funny so had a good laugh. We will continue to keep in touch. Lily

Good to hear from you Lily, and that you are moving forward with life. You will always carry Jade in your heart, and from the things you wrote about her, I'm sure she would want you to find peace and enjoyment in life. I too have friends that I only met because of this forum, as does Simba. We laugh a lot together, its good for the soul

Gosh is it 6months already? Doesnât seem that long. Glad you are meeting up with friends who know your situation well - and beginning to learn to live again. I had a similar experience with a therapist I had telephone counselling with - I recently started seeing her face to face - it was a bit like catfish - I was thinking âthatâs not what youâre supposed to look likeâ - probably more so as I knew her voice not just the written word. After a few sessions itâs entirely natural and Iâve integrated her sound with her appearance and itâs great as we work really well together as we always did - but now more real - carry on meeting up with friends and making new ones

Sounds like a lovely weekend, itâs doesnât feel like 6 months since you lost Jade. It is alway such a boost to meet up with someone that you have something so strongly in common with.
