All excellent questions dory! I can answer no. 2 for you though, he'll be on formula and if he isn't you'll be wanting to know why not! Cows milk as a drink is not recommended before 12 months for any baby.as for the others all hopefully should be answered by the fc before you need to ask them but keep them with you and tick them off as they get answered, what the fc says to you may even suggest further questions for you.for me, when I took on the care of my AS (also with ds and 15 months at the time) the other questions i wanted answers to were medical ones, so his medical history and any long term problems like heart/bowel problems (common in kids with ds- my son has a serious bowel condition but no heart problems), any hearing or vision checks be done yet (both hearing and vision are often poor in children with ds- my son is hearing impaired and long sighted). the signing one (like it- get practicing even if they say no!! started AS off from 16 months and he picked up his first food related signs in a matter of seconds!).I also wanted to know about AS's current development level but have to warn you that even if they say one thing chances are it will be different to what you experience. my AS was unable to sit, crawl, hold toys etc was basically like a 5 month old at 15 months but within two weeks was mobile, crawling and pulling to standing! also ask about portage or other early intervention that may be being used (tou'll want to get a referral in as soon as poss when he comes home to you), and possibly speech therapy and OT.

Your very welcome Moonstar. We took this list and a lot more as there is a list of 200 odd questions on the discussions or suggestions threads.Even though we had this list of questions, we asked very few of them, our SW told us they were more pertinant to the intros. The FC told us all we needed to know about Nemo, mainly about his health and development.the ones that were important, where as follows:what is he coming with? so we can buy all we need before intros.Size of clothes he wears? if you want to buy any before hand. How is he developing? Are there any health issues not mentioned in CPR?You will find that you will just talk about everything and the question will flow.Good luck, it will be fine and very usefulDory xx
