May be taking an emergency placement of 2 muslim children today - I know that they cannot eat pork or pork products but not sure what I can give them, bearing in mind I may not have time to shop before they get here.Any help gratefully recieved1

Vegetarian food is probably your safest option. Lots of food you would think ok can have hidden pork in it , either in the form of gelatine or pork fat. Queenie

Sorry to butt in, but there is a brand called 'Mumtaz' (might be the same one, tinkerbellastar) which is to strict Halal standards and I know you could get it in Sainsbury's, I'm not sure if you still can. Mod

Hello Wriggles, go with vegetarian and fish options. There is this baby food brand Mumtaz, but having tried it myself and on my kids, I have to say it doesn't taste that great!

We have frequent community meetings with Muslim families and are always told anything veggie is fine.
