Sorry about the previous duplicate topics... My computer had a panic!Basically, my partner and I are trying to go through the adoption process and she has the BrCa 2 Gene which is early onset for Breast Cancer. The council have sent us a formal letter today say that they will not consider us for adoption. The operation she has to have will be a couple of years into the future and it''s really upset us.Has anyone else experienced something similar??Is there anything we can do??
BrCa2 Gene
You can appeal, or go with a different LA, or with a VA (voluntary adoption agency). Are they saying no, never, or no till she's had this operation? If you want to appeal, I'd suggest writing to the BAAF (look up their web page) as they are very helpful at wording letters etc.
Hi when i was on my prep course a couple who were ther the wife had some sort of cancer and it too them about 3 years to get to the point were they would let them go to pannel I suspect they would alot of medical detail also you wife to have councilingVA are usually a bit more real than LAs but i think even VA would be hard pressed to take on someone were the put come is so unclear
Hi, Just to say if the username is your real names, might be worth changing as these boards are open and anyone (so social workers, birth parents etc are able to read them). Must of us use some sort of nickname. If you contact the AUK administrator they should be able to help.Best wishes, Minnie x
