Hello everyone,We''re being joined by an additional moderator tomorrow - Community-Moderator 2 and we''ve been showing her the community and preparing here for the work. But there''s just one thing I wonder if anyone would like to take on?!The ARF thread is wonderful and to those of us who have been following it since the beginning, makes total sense. Too fresh eyes however, I''m not so sure! So it would be fantastic if those of you who take part could contribute a definition or two?! Slowly but surely, an ARF dictionary could appear!Holly - Moderator

ooh, that is a very good idea, but will have to be someone else, as I guess usually the arf abbreviations.Maybe their should be an arf section in prep groups to give parents to be a bit of a heads up.

As someone reasonably new I think that is a wonderful idea. I have looked in on ARF, and enjoyed what I deciphered, but don't look any more as it takes time to understand and I don't feel able to contribute without the 'lingo'.go go go!

Nup, seems to have gone, hadn't realised it was that long ago.I'll make a start instead of doing basecamp (home) relocation (moving) admin.EN1 - (enemy number 1) parent, usually motherEN2 - (enemy number 2) parent, usually fatherARF agent - adoptive childnon-ARF agent - child not a member of the ARF (but often aspiring in their behaviour)BCRF agent - birth child who has picked up ARF tacticsFCRF agent - foster childMASH - hospital/medical facilities/attentionSupply tent - shop, usually supermarketFurry Agents - pets, often acting as double agentsWFP Bench - Worst Flipping Parent Bench - place we are condemned to when our agents deem us NOT FAIRTurquoise - lovely therapeutic parenting as recommended by Margot Sunderland, she of the floating turquoise robes (she wore them at an AUK conference some years ago)Orange/Red - not lovely therapeutic parentingRSM - Raving Saregeant Major - a ranting parent actOK, had better go and placate the Cavalry-ish (almost understanding of adoptive children's needs) Grandparents by feeding agents breakfast and sorting laundry. I thought there was something else, but as now generally read anything with the aid of two kids, two dogs and dh it could have been anything!

Various pets have acquired their own potentially confusing titles.I am the proud owner of the Royal Corgi ( therapeutic division) , who is in fact a very large greyhound who is also a therapy dog!"crab" tends to refer to the endless supply of broken bits and pieces and , well shall we say "tat", that our young seem to accumulate.Queenie

Wow this is great. I used to read the Arf thread but never really knew what the abbrevs were about, which is why I never joined in.It would be great if Auk could add PT's list at the top of the page alongside the normal abbrev list so we could print it off and join in. Perhaps this could be incorporated in the new board updates?
