Difficult intros????????

Hi all,we are starting intros on monday with Pumpkin age 3 (developmentaly 2).We have heard from the FC''s today and apparently the preparation isnt going dowm well. Pumpkin has been hitting FC and saying they are her mummy and daddy.Pumpkin doesnt like meeting new people and avoids looking at them.We are not expecting too much on monday (just a 1 hour visit) but any advice for us or FC''s would be appreciated.Thanks in advance milly1 xx

we got told the same but with 30 minutes of us being in the house just 'having a coffe' then being shown around and then playing jack and the bean stalk!!we had a great couple of hours......which should have been 45 minute visit..Dont have any expectations, be natural, read a story and get down on floor and have a play -even if its on your own with her watching.

Don't know if this helps but last intros I did for a two year old and her 1 year old bruv the little girl initially showed loads of interest in Adopters family book and was really excited but then about 4 days before intros refused to look at it and wouldn't talk about Mummy and Daddy at all. At planning meeting prepared Mum and Dad for this and everyone was thinking we may have to extend intros if she didn't improve.Day one of intros and Mum and Dad arrive just as she is waking from her nap I go and pick her up and say ' guess who is downstairs' she squeals excitedly 'Mummy and Daddy' goes down and within an hour I am no longer required and eventually intros dropped from 10 to 6 days!! Sometimes I think with little ones they cannot understand the concept of meeting Mum and Dad until they are actually there. Hope things go well for you xx
