Another milestone

At the ripe old age of 7 and a half, DS today for the first time rode his bike without stabilisers! He is an extremely anxious and controlling child, who struggled to let me teach him or support him, but we finally got there! A huge dollop of peer pressure (friends starting to ride their bikes to school)helped, as did watching a Youtube video together of the technique which worked for us - taking off the pedals and using the bike like a balance bike, then putting them back on once he was able to ''glide'' with good balance. It has taken a weekend, no falls, no shouting at mummy for touching the bike, no backache for me. Result!
