Books suitable for 5 year old birth child

Our adopted child will be joining us in about a month, Are there any recommendations on age appropriate books to help prepare our birth daughter? Most seems to be directed at the adopted child. Thanks

Not in this situation but I have previously seen 'adopting a brother or sister' by Hedi Argent recommended.

Hi there. I’d be interested to know if you and your SW have done any other preparation with your birth child or if reading any recommended books is the first preparation your BC will have. This is usually covered during Home Study so I wonder what preparation was done during that.

Good morning. There’s an adoption U.K. bk called ‘oh brother’ which is a handy thing. The Todd parr books about different shaped families are good too. I do worry about the lack of appropriate attention birth children get in the adoption process by the placing team. Might I gently suggest that you ask for something to support your bc with adoption

I think mine were only interviewed to see if they were broadly in agreement with the adoption - I think some opportunity to really think through what it could mean would be very helpful - and some direct support after placement

I've just order one called 'waiting for may' by Janet soeke I think. It doesn't fit perfectly as it's about an international adoption but I think I can talk around it to work!
