Lights on - when logged in?

Hi,On most internet sites there is a light that shows up besides your name when you are logged in. Was just wondering if there was any chance of having something like that on here? It would be very useful to know if any of our friends were on line at the same time, especially if you wanted to chat to them via pm. At the moment you only know if you see them post and happen to notice it.For those who just wanted to read and not be seen they could still do this by not logging in and reading the boards privately.Also it might deter trolls as we would all know when they were online.Just a thought, I don''t have a clue about technical things, so have no idea if this would be possible or popular at all.

On modern message boards, this is possible. You can even be logged in, and yet still choose to not show you're online to any other than admins - if you don't want others to know.Let's hope this is a feature of the new boards (if we get new boards).

I agree Fehrscaper, things like avatars, lights on/off, edit button, spell check, http links are just so basic these days, it astounds me how antiquated these boards are.We do have an avatar facility on here but it doesn't work.
