Secondary Schools with good SEN support

River1963 June 16, 2021 13:03

Hi

We are looking at secondary schools for our son who has ADHD/high Functioning ASD. More House has been on the list for a while but can't see it for the moment as it's not opening till September. Any views on it or other schools in Twickenham/Richmond/Hampton areas?

I may have answered you before? Although it’s an SEN school they have a unit in a mainstream school

My daughter was at Clarendon - well worth looking at. It was an excellent school when she went and the HT and some of the staff are the same. She has severe ADHD but it was undiagnosed at the time and they treated her as if she had it - ie appropriately - also she has a social communication disorder so borderline ASD. They have an offsite unit for ASD at what used to be Whitton School (Twickenham Academy?) Used to be in Hampton but I think is now in Richmond - in the grounds of Richmond College?

Safia, Thanks so much for this. I visited The Gateway the ASD section of Clarendon now linked to Twickenham School. It's impressive. Though the school itself is still 'needing improvement' by Ofsted. -
