I'm coming to the end of a week spent with family overseas. It's so hard being a single adoptive parent, but what a difference a week can make. AD & I have been cared for, slept well and have both relaxed. We'll return to the UK in a better place. AD has been really affectionate towards me and has heard a number of important messages from other family members (without prompting), reinforcing what I've said in recent months. My pre-Christmas gloom has lifted, and I back to my usual optimistic self. Thank goodness for friends and family. Best wishes for 2019. xx

That is so lovely to hear and really reflects why having a good support network (even if they are overseas!) is so important. Our own well being is such an important factor in parenting. I take my hat off to anyone who is a single adoptive parent (or a single parent in general!) You do an amazing job xxx
