meeting to go through proposed statement

louie June 21, 2013 13:21
with the LA. AS''s proposed statement is very ''woolly'' to say the least! I am assured by the caseworker that it is for 30 hours 1:1 per week but it doesn''t say that! "Consistent daily..." isn''t quite the same is it?Apparently they don''t specify hours any more! Hmmmm, I think I need to make sure they do.Any advise?

Hi,we've just recieved our dd's proposed statement and it was very wooly indeed!!! Nothing quantified, no suggestion of who, what, when would the interventions be carried out etc. No specific time allocations in terms of hours. We sent it to Parent Parnership who were great and wrote down everything that needed to be amended. I then wrote a letter with the amendments and it had to go back to panel. This has held the process up quite a lot and we still don't know where dd will be in September!! Sailing a bit close to the wind I knowHowever, what goes into the statement now will be legally binding so it needs to be right and the school need it to be very specific otherwise things just won't be done especially if you're going for a mainstream school.I would go through it with a fine toothcomb preferably with your local parent parnership service and then meet with the case officer to discuss changes.Too important to just accept it IMO Good luck,A xx

You must get it all written down and specific for your childThere are changes happening to funding so schools will have more say in how they use fundingParent partnership were always good for my dsSuze x
