Profile for me

PollyPocket August 31, 2013 18:09
Hello AllJust wondering if anyone could give me ideas or advice?I have been approved for 4months and am working at re-doing my profile to send out to agencies. I''ve tried to re-word and add to a profile my SW created from the first page of my PAR. I felt there needed to be more information and pointing out more positives. Has anyone made one of these? What kind of things did you cover? Did you include photos? I have one of me and one of my dad with me. Should I maybe include photo of the cat or ?? If I add more it will take it over A4. Is that important?Just looking for some guidance and experience. Thanks

Hi PP,I had a photo of me and one of the cat but I still kept it to one side of A4 - the photos broke up the text too, so I think it made it more readable.

Mine was one side of A4 with one photo of me. It was quite up beat, focused on personality type things, like music, outdoors, growing veggies etc, characteristics such as patience etc etc, bit like an advert in e-harmony

That's exactly what it feels like. An advert for a dating website!! Lol.

Yes, treat it as an advert and highlight your 'key selling points' the things that will make you stand out as a match over other possible families. I put willingness to support contact, and it proved to be a very useful selling point. Experience of particular challenges eg ADHD also seemed to make my profile click with the family finders. Do put something specific about your experience with the age group you want to be considered for - it really seems to help in matching although it shouldn't as the child won't stay that age for ever. Mention your robust support network.Hope you are matched soon!

Thanks Lettice. I've pretty much covered those points so that's a good thing! :-)
