AUK has received a request from a journalist writing a piece for a magazine about the joys and challenges of being single adopters.

I am writing a piece for a magazine about single adopters in response to recent figures showing that adoptions by single parents are on the rise. I’m hoping to look at the particular joys and challenges, highs and lows of being a single adopter, to raise their profile and public understanding, as well as show the amazing job they do. Although there is space for some anonymous stories, we are really hoping at least one will be on the record (with names/ details of the children changed for safeguarding.) I’m particularly keen to find a single dad! I’m happy to show the copy to anyone in it. Please take a look at past pieces and feel free to come forward with any questions. https://www.theguardian.com/profile/anna-moore
