Hi Everyone,

We are pleased to announce a couple of new exciting functions.

Firstly, a Like Button is now live across all posts. Titled React to post, once you click on it, it will give you 5 different options on rating a post.

Look for the orange button on a post like so:

Click it and the options will appear, then click the option you would like:

Secondly, we’ve added the option for users to add their own signature. If you would like to do so, please login and access your profile under the Adoption UK tab:

On the following profile page click the Edit button:

Scroll down the page and you’ll see the following field for a Signature. Create/add your signature and please consider the content when doing so:

Then make sure you click Submit at the bottom of the page to save the Signature:

You can login at anytime to update or delete.

How do you make it work? It doesn’t seems to be a single click - I’ve tried - after having logged in then gone to AUK message boards before doing so

Hi Safia,

Yes you need to be logged in, and it's 2 clicks: one click to bring up the options and then you click the option you want: Like, Angry, Sad, Congratulations or Support.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues reacting to posts Safia.

We have tried to replicate the issue you are experiencing with no success, so would like to ask that if the issue continues that you contact support with details of what type of device you are using, and which browser so we can investigate further.

Oh dear I am not sure how helpful this is going to be. I think just the "like" option is more than sufficient. Why have an "angry" option to respond to someone's post? surely this is just going to create bad feelings on the boards? On one hand you remind posters about the need to be respectful to other people's posts and then you give them a feature that does the exact opposite?

As a matter of interest - is it working for everyone else?

But the problem is, you have to be logged in first. Anyone reading the posts without logging in won’t see any emojis at all.

Well Cat Lady - I've managed to like your post on my computer at work - after logging in - but this seems to be a bit of an extreme way to do so!

Beth - I've received your email offering support regarding this so will respond - just wanted to check if I could do it on my computer first - thanks

Safia, thank you for the like! I logged in to see it, then tried to like your post in return but nothing happened. However I am on my phone. Will try later from iPad :-/

Hi All,

thank you for your feedback on this. We have asked the developers to remove the angry reaction - we agree with you, this is not needed. If a post angers users, it usually means it's reported to us - and that is a far more useful function in terms of safeguarding. We also agree - the forums should be supportive and this reaction does not lend itself to the community we are trying to create.

Secondly, we have flagged with the developers that the react button does not seem to work on mobile and ipads and - we have asked this to be addressed as soon as possible. It seems that from their initial testing, the react button is grumbling with Apple products. We will keep you updated with developments as soon as we hear.

We appreciate you taking the time to come back to us on this and we do want to continue to work with you to create a platform that works for all.

Best wishes,

Charlotte

“Grumbling with Apple products” - I like that - makes a good quote! ?

Morning all!

Good news - the team have fixed the grumbles and the react button should work on all devices. Apologies that this took time to fix, but thank you for flagging.

We are still working on deleting the angry reaction and this should be completed over the next few days.

Thanks for your patience.
