Match agreed! Now....sorting leave?

Newt July 13, 2020 22:55

We have had matching panel now (unanimous recommendation for a yes! Yay!!!) for little Newtlet and Tadpole to come home with us. I have two questions next.

1) Has anyone had / known of a unanimous matching panel recommendation and then not had that translate into ADM ratification, ie a 'no'?

2) What have people put on their out of office work message?!

Thank you!

First of all, a massive congratulations ?. Second of all I have never heard of the ADM going against a unanimous positive recommendation made by panel. I remember when we received a unanimous recommendation by panel and I had the same concerns that what if the ADM said no. The agency had no doubts whatsoever so carried on with arranging introductions etc before is was ratified anyways. Just remind yourself on how many people said yes. The whole of panel, your FF/SW agreed it was a good match plus the children’s SW and the team lead/manager (if applicable). Start celebrating now. Your LOs will soon be with you. As for out of office reply, I just told people I was on maternity leave but I was in a position to tell people that we were adopting and I wanted to tell people. It all depends how much information you want to give people. Wishing you all the best

Congratulations, such an exciting time ahead of you. I haven't heard of ADM going against an unanimous positive recommendation, I'm sure your children will be with you soon! I just put on my out of office that I was on adoption leave. I was pretty open about it at work and everyone was fantastic, everyone pretty much knew about it anyway by the time I was putting on my out of office (although I never actually went back once adoption leave ended).

We also adopted siblings (coming to us at the same time), and yes it has been hard work, but I wouldn't change the last few years for the world. Wishing you the very best of luck for the next few months. x
