Hello, I hope you are well and don't mind me getting in touch with a slightly unusual press request.
I'm working on a feature for The Strategist UK about the gifts new and expectant mums actually want (as recommended by new mums) and I'd like the feature to be inclusive, so I'd really love to get some insight from adoptive mums about the most meaningful/useful gifts they received in their first year with their children, – gifts that they would now recommend buying for other new mums.
I was wondering whether you might be able to put me in touch with some adoptive mums who would be happy to contribute to my feature? All I would need is for them to recommend one or two gifts and briefly explain why they recommend them. They could send this info over email or we could chat it through over the phone, whichever is easier for them. Their recommendations would sit alongside others. The feature will be similar to this one on the US Strategist: The Best Gifts for New Moms, According to New Moms.
One thing to note: we can't include recommendations for products the mums have a commercial relationship with, or which they have been 'gifted' by a pr/brand. I appreciate you are probably even more busy than usual at the moment, and understand this request is a little different to the usual press requests you receive, so I totally understand if you're not able to help out with this one. But if you can, it would be great if you could let me know whether or not this is something you are able to help with by midday tomorrow (Tuesday).
With The Strategist's articles, the editor usually asks that people are identified by: their full name, age, whereabouts they're from (although this can be a broad area), job title and ages of their children - although if they need to withhold some of that info please do just let me know, as I'm sure my editor will understand.
