In praise of our Regional Adoption Agency; "Adoption Central England" (ACE)
All too often I read negative comments from adoptive parents about our various Regional Adoption Agencies (RAA) up and down England; especially on social media. So today I thought I must write something positive.
We have just returned from Adoption Central England's "Young People's Support Group". This a regular meet-up held in a Warwickshire community centre. Run by social workers for adoptees aged 11 plus. It's a lovely informal get together for adopted teenagers. Support, chat, creative, fresh air, a safe place, pizza, doughnuts and just doing things adoptees themselves wish to do. Also, a wonderful chance to make lasting friendships and share experiences with other adoptees away from adoptive parents!
All in all, rather fab and something both our adopted children genuinely enjoy.
A big thank you to the social workers at Adoption Central England for so freely giving up their time to support our young people. You are quite simply ACE!
